School Leadership

A Message from our Principal

I am so grateful to Dr. Matt Stover and the Catawba County School Board for entrusting me to serve the Bunker Hill High School community. I consider it an absolute honor and a privilege to join you all as a partner in education and a champion of our students at BHHS. Each member of our school community is important, valuable, and crucial to our success as a school. The tradition of excellence that has been established at Bunker Hill High School will only be entrusted to the professional, the kind, the selfless, those who are willing to serve, and to those that always act with integrity! We may not be responsible for the circumstances that we encounter but we will always be responsible for how we respond. Join us in being champions for our students, and carrying the banner for BHHS! #RISEUP

Why do you want to be a part of this community

The Bunker Hill High School community is tight knit, compassionate, and inclusive. I consider it a privilege to be apart of this community and be the Principal at BHHS.

    Meet Holly Holleran, Assistant Principal

Joined Team CCS - March 2022

    Experience
In 2008, I joined Teach For America and began my career in education.  During my years of teaching at the elementary level, I decided I wanted to make a broader impact.  I served as a curriculum and instructional specialist at the campus and district level.  Shortly thereafter, I became an Assistant Principal at a PK-8 Magnet School.  After serving in that role for four years, I transitioned to a large comprehensive high school as an Assistant Principal where I spent the previous 6 years.  In March 2022, I joined the family at Bunker Hill High School as the Dean of Students.  I am extremely excited to continue to be a part of this community.

    Education

Bachelor in Arts (Social Work), Siena College, Albany, NY

Master in Business & Education Administration, University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX

    Why I Became an Educator
My third grade teacher inspired me to be a teacher.  She was my all-time favorite teacher!  She was fun, engaging and she cared about each of her students.  I aspire to be her every day.

    Favorite Place in Catawba County
Any Bunker Hill event!  I love watching our students participate and perform in a setting that allows them to explore their interests and talents.

    Favorite Activities

My favorite activity is spending time with my family.  We love hiking and camping and our occasional trip to the beach.  I also love working out and inspiring others to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

    Something Unique About Me

I was an avid Crossfitter for 8 years.

It didn't take long for me to realize that we have the most amazing and compassionate students, staff and community at Bunker Hill.  I love that the Bunker Hill community is a deeply rooted community built on tradition and culture with a focus on academic excellence and support from our community.  I am honored to be a part of the Bunker Hill family.
